Wood Stopping is a natural, cellulose-based solvent, wood floor stopping for filling small holes, cracks and gaps. Made from wood pulp, it is the traditional method for making repairs in unfinished wood. Quick drying and easy to sand, it dries as hard as wood, and is available in a wide range of colours.
HOW TO USE
Select the shade of Wood Stopping that most closely resembles the final finished colour required. To obtain other wood shades either mix the Stoppings together or mix in Earth Pigments before applying. Spread and press Wood Stopping into the repair area with a painter’s knife or similar tool. For best results resist overspreading, but leave sufficient over fill to enable thorough sanding. Allow to dry thoroughly for 10 minutes or longer, depending on the depth of the repair. Fill deep cavities in several stages, as several thin layers will dry more rapidly than one heavy application. Close the tin tightly. If contents become dry, this product may be reconstituted with cellulose thinner.
Always test the product on a spare surface or inconspicuous area for colour, compatibility and end results. Wood Stopping may accept dyes/stains differently to surrounding wood.
The use of gloves is recommended when applying this product.
